Byrds - Precious Kate [buy]Roger McGuinn's lone highlight from the Farther Along sessions, I referred to it in my recent Clarence White post as a beautiful earthquake song that sounds like it was written with Jeff Tweedy in mind. Lest there be any confusion, I didn't mean that McGuinn was penning tunes for a 4-year-old Tweedy. Rather, that it sounds like the kind of song Tweedy could've written during his classic Being There/Mermaid Avenue/Golden Smog/Summerteeth run. Like Farther Along itself, "Kate" is an underrated charmer.
