Vic Chesnutt & Michael Stipe - Guilty By Association (buy)
I just read on the news that Vic passed away. I didn't know Vic Chesnutt very well. Don't even have any of his albums, but I was just working on a cover of this song with a Spanish friend. We've got this project of recording 4 tracks by file exchange (we're Internet buddies and have never met each other). He suggested "Guilty By Association", which was my first encounter with Vic. The song is poignant, the guitar part is beautiful. I'm supposed to record the backing vocals by Michael Stipe. I didn't even know that Vic was on a wheelchair. So I guess now this song will have a different flavour.
