The Temptations - (I Know) I'm Losing You (buy)
Yesterday I saw the movie "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", about the famous Funk Brothers, those session musicians who created the trademark sound of Berry Gordy's label. According to the movie, they played on more number-one hits than The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys combined.
Among them, one of the best bass players of all time, Mr James Jamerson. Although session musicians were not credited before 1971, every fan will tell you that it's Jamerson who played on that great Temptations gem.
